Each Summer A, the Department of Languages and Linguistics offers an Institute in which intensive language courses are offered in German, French, Spanish, and Italian.

These courses combine the beginning sequence of Spanish I and Spanish II to create an intensive, immersion style class that allows students to complete their language requirement in six weeks and move quickly to the next level of intermediate Spanish and continue on to the minor and major.

Students without prior language experience going abroad in Summer B to our Spanish Cultural Studies in Madrid program are especially encouraged to do this intensive course so they can advance rapidly once in Spain.
