Students may earn credits toward their Spanish major by completing an internship in Hispanic and Latino community organizations. Internships provide students with valuable, hands-on experience working in bilingual environments, where they can put their language skills to use.

International internships |
International Internships in Ecuador are also available. You can be placed in one of many different businesses, schools, universities, agencies, etc. for a period of 6 weeks to one year. You can earn credits as well as learn by immersing yourself in the Ecuadorian culture and the Spanish language. For more information, see Dr. Michael J. Horswell (Horswell@fau.edu). (It is recommended that students interested in doing an internship in Ecuador consider doing the Andean Cultural Studies program in Summer A to learn about the country’s history and culture, and then do the internship in Summer B and/or the Fall semester. Most internship locations are in Guayaquil, Cuenca, or Quito. |
